Wildlife Garden

a meadow in your garden for wildlife to strive

Wilding has become increasingly popular in recent years but we have been doing it for decades for our clients with Wildflower Turf or Wildflower Seed.  We believe that a wildflower area in any garden, large or small creates a wonderful piece of biodiversity due to the insects and wildlife which it attracts as well as being extremely attractive between April and November.  The flowering season can be increased by underplanting with bulbs which appear in late winter or early spring.  Wildflower turf or seed is supplied in a variety of mixtures to suit your individual environment.

A Wildflower Oasis in Surrey

Our clients wanted to create something very different and attractive to encourage Wildlife in to the garden.  In the past they had tried and failed to grow a wildflower meadow from seed, so we suggested using Wildflower Herbs & Flowers Felt Turf from The Lawn Store.  After killing off the existing lawn we prepared the soil, underplanted with spring bulbs, created a small wildlife pond and laid 300 square metres of turf felt.  The results are stunning with the colours changing constantly between May and October.

We present you below how the build has started and how it ended, along with some steps of the progress along the way.

A steep Bank Wildflower transformation

This steep bank was overgrown with brambles and weeds which made it impossible to maintain.  Out team cut down the unwanted overgrown vegetation and killed it off over a 12 month duration before preparing the soil to ensure it was weed free.  During the Autumn we painstakingly laid Enriched Wildflower turf from The Lawn Store.  Pegs were used to secure the turf to the bank.  5 months later it is in full flower and looks beautiful.
